We stayed 2 nights here on the recommendation of friends back in October 2009. The hotel itself is nothing special, but the friendliness of the staff , the location and price is reasonable when you are in Hanoi. Kelvin the manager was so very helpful. We were on a tight schedule and he just made things happen. When we thought we only had time to visit Halong Bay, or Sapa..Kelvin worked his magic. He arranged our tour on Halong Bay for two nights storing our larger suitcases for us in the storeroom, on return he provided us a room to shower and clean up before our train ride to Sapa, again storing our bags. Two nights in Sapa and then on return to the hotel around 5.30am he had arranged for us to have a room to catch a nap and shower before our transport to the airport at 9am. When we came down, he offered us breakfast and coffee. When we paid our bill, he only actually charged us for the two nights we stayed in the hotel and ofcourse for our tours (which were very reasonably priced). Kelvin even made our flight bookings to HCMC and got us the cheapest tickets available with Vietnam Air.
The room itself was fully functional, working a/c, shower, although water did spray into toilet area, but no problem. Breakfast was quite good, with eggs, baguettes, toast, butter, jam, bacon, sausages and a variety of asian foods.
There was free internet, though at that stage I had no use for it. Overall, I think if it wasn't for Kelvin and his staff our stay in northern Vietnam would have been less enjoyable to say the least.
Would I stay at this hotel again?.... Most definately!
