Hanoi Spark Hotel

We stayed several nights in this hotel in the Old Quarter in Hanoi. We also booked a two day tour to Halong Bay with this hotel. The hotel is located very central in the Old Quarter, near many attractions, shops, markets and restaurants. It is located in an old building, with split level floors. Some rooms are very noisy, because of loud music from a club nearby. The breakfast was made to order, but the service was slow. The staff is very friendly and they also provided airport transfers.

Stayed here with friends for six nights in Hanoi. Breakfast was great and the location ideal. Very helpful and friendly staff with arranging tours and finding restaurants. Best coffee we had the entire trip.

Hotel Staff My point of contact was Ms Jenny and she went far and beyond my expectation in services. Queries, replies were extremely prompt and they were able to communicate in English/ translate Vietnamese to English on behalf with no problems. Staff was always cheerful to greet me with a smile regardless was it 3 am or 3 pm. All day trips/tour arranged on behalf by them was gorgeous, I am 100% satisfied. Staff was always very concerned about whether was I enjoying my trip and never let me felt alone or unsafe travelling solo. They can literally arrange everything for you in Hanoi with no services charges and they do it with a smile! What more can you ask for? The Hotel itself Food - Breakfast is 'ala carte buffet style' - meaning there are a small selection of tropical fruits & coffee/tea and toast and a cooked upon order selection of eggs and local breakfast meals like pho/fried rice/sticky rice. Quality of food provided is great and delicious. Location - Right at the Old Quarter so many Old Quarters attractions are within walking range such as Thang Long Water Puppetry and Hoan Kiem Lake. Very convenient as there are 24/7 Convenience Stores at every corner and there were delicious street food at every aisle. Amenities - Airport transfer are included and comfortable. Wifi is complimentary and strong at every level. There was multi channel cable TV in Vietnamese and English and I was able to watched Dr Dolittle 1/2 at night. Fridge wasn't plugged in in winter but if you buy chilled drinks/food you can plug it in no issues and the fridge was cold. There are fans/ air-cons in the rooms. Rooms - There seems to be 3 rooms for every level from 2-6? Some rooms have no windows (which is totally fine for me) and if your rooms are on the lower level facing the back there is a Pub that operates to about 2 am so there might be some noise so get your ear plugs ready. The sheets are clean and fresh smelling. You get two bottle of 500 ml drinking water everyday. There are complimentary tea and coffee sachets of good quality replenished everyday but recommended you bring you bring your own kettle if you will be boiling hot water for making milk for babies/little ones. Bathrooms - The bathroom have slight mold/algae at tile grouts, shower heads and undersides of sinks/ shower shelves but wear the provided plastic slippers in the room and you will be fine (its Vietnam a developing country and this is a budget B&B after all). There are plenty of hot water at the right temperature but due to smaller? water tanks showers longer then 15 mins will have you finishing cold, if you are travelling as a family recommended that you space shower time out so everyone will get good pressure hot water. Standard Shower Gel/Shampoo in dispenser and disposable toothbrushes/toothpaste are given. All in all, while I do wish the bathroom can be slightly cleaner - I feel that the services provided by the staff and the quality of the amenities are extremely value for money especially since my trip was around Tet (Vietnam busiest period of the year) and I would absolutely stay with them again for my next Vietnam-Hanoi trip.
