Khan Quang Do Hotel

This hotel left a lot to be desired. I've been travelling in Cambodia & Vietnam for the best part of 2 months now & this hotel left an undesired taste in my mouth. Pros: the room itself was spacious, clean & comfortable. The bed is probably the most comfortable I've slept in since landing in SE Asia 2. The air-con works a treat & our rooms temperature was perfect. It's location is within walking distance from all of the major Hanoi attractions There is an excellent reasonably priced local restaurant nearby CONS: The hotel by the nature of its advertising is fraudulent Yes, there is a swimming pool nearby BUT it is not solely a hotel amenity. It is close to the hotel but is a communal pool, an indoor facility & generally occupied by hoards of school children, at all hours... do not expect to laze about by a pool in the afternoon Tennis court... 500m away but again a communal facility.... not something i chose to explore Breakfast is included BUT from 6am until 8.30.... you'd want to get there nice & early. One morning I went up at 8 to find everything put away with no option of having a breakfast...although it was included in my room rate. Also the food is not kept hot, neither is anything replaced once it emptied.... cold eggs & ham at 7.30 became my morning ritual. Bread rolls, if they hadn't been eaten, were lovely. Furthermore, you need to collect your next day breakfast vouchers every evening at the reception desk. Oddly, this area is only used for breakfast & you may not eat here or in the building at any other time of the day. This hotel has several conference/ meeting rooms solely for tour and large bus groups. If you are travelling in anything under than a bus load do not expect to be fed. Speaking of the staff, while they are friendly (as is the Vietnamese nature) nobody speaks English, I resorted to using Google Translate to ask any questions I had during my week long stay This in itself proved an issue because the wifi here is appalling: in the room, corridor , lobby... all useless .... and yes I checked. Resorted myself to relocating around the room to gain any sort of connection While I travelled more or less on a budget of around 20-25 Euro per night for hotels, this hotel I feel was a let down. It's website needs updating or an accurate description of its services.

This is a very nice property. Several buildings offer hotel rooms. The lobby is welcoming and the restaurant is large and the food was great. I would definitely go back. It is difficult to find, but well worth the effort.

The location is near to the center and the Ba Dinh square. My room is big with 2 single beds. Moreover, the staffs are very friendly and hospitable while the service is good. The hotel was watched out my luggage freely and carefully when I had to check out at the afternoon. I will choose the Hotel when I come back to Ha Noi
