Time Hotel

Hurt me to even give 1 star. Do not book worst hotel I have ever seen. It is absolutely filthy. As somebody with asthma the copious amount of dust and strong smell of paint - with no evidence of any redecoration - the hour I spent in the hotel room was unbearable. My partner who has no such condition had a headache within 5 mins due to fumes. The room looks nothing like advertised it is completely fraudulent will add pics. I even paid extra for a deluxe room it is frightening to think what a standard room must be. On booking confirmation it said ‘room with a view’, there was no such thing and filthy windows. Wall paper was peeling off walls, ceiling was covered in damp, bathroom was so filthy, bed extremely uncomfortable and mattress was disturbing. Only got refunded 50% of fee as I was made pay on arrival. Manager didn’t even look in our direction or apologize was extremely rude and unprofessional it was just unacceptable leaving her poor staff member to deal with issue. Only good thing about this hotel was receptionist lam, she acted professionally from start to finish and deserves better than the manager. Would not recommend this place as it’s damp, dusty and filthy. No standards whatsoever.

This hotel was the worst i ever stayed in. We were with 6 friends, and they put us on a Floor where they were ‘reconstructing’. They did not tell us this before, and so we woke up to loud banging noises at 7am. Also: they lied about the airconditioning which did not work, the WiFi reception was terrible. When we confronted the management they did not care about us, and did not try to give us a refund. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

I originally booked (via travel agent) to stay in the Hanoi Old Quarter Boutique Hotel next door, but it’s under renovations and was given an “equivalent” room here at the Time Hotel, which apparently has the same owner. At no point was I, or my travel agent, notified of the renovations, this booking was paid for in March 2019. The room smells of damp (well, the whole place smells funky to be honest), the walls are covered in holes and marks, it’s smaller than what the pictures would have you believe, there is noise from the construction site next door, stairs are packed with junk, the bathroom is unnaturally slippery for some reason, and there is no soap or toiletries supplied. I don’t understand how this place has any good reviews, there must be some rooms that have been refurbed more recently than this one. So if you find a great deal online for the Time Hotel (which is ageing and in need of a renovation), or the Hanoi Old Quarter Boutique Hotel (which currently isn’t open), don’t do it. After a quick walk around, I’ve found there are MANY other hotels in a 50m radius that look MUCH nicer with a much more professional looking set up than this place around the same price ($30-$40AUD) without the musty dungeon smell.
