Hanoi Lucky II Hotel

I Stayed at the Hanoi Lucky Hotel II in Jan 2020 for 2 nights. Was slightly surprised when we initially reached the hotel as we had to carry our bags from the main road to the little lane where the hotel was located. However in the days to come, realised that the lane is quite clean and decently lit at night, so not too bad. One office travel agent at lobby Initially stayed on the second floor . A room facing some houses family with many chirlden and there was minor construction work going on. Not too noisy and they stopped work around 5pm. Overall, rooms were basic but clean. Toilets were large with bath. It was ok . i like it The hotel staff Mr Trung Manager helped in organising a city tour for us. Also kept our luggage for us when we went on our 3 day 1 night Halong Bay (i booked with the hotel) trip and had our room ready for us when we returned. . The city tour organised for us was ok, this was the first time I encountered a slightly friendly tour guide. Location wise, it is located about 2 minutes walk to church, which is at of the main Old Quarter district. Therefore, it is not right in the middle of the shopping area, so it is very quiet at night. I spoke to other travellers who were staying in the old quarter, near the ly quoc su Str area and they complained of annoying and noisy late night motorcycle races, however I personally did not witness any races when I was walking around that area. The hotel staff which were very friendly, helpful and did not force us to book any trips with them. Breakfast simple with coffee ,eggs , toast , butter , jam , fruit . with me is ok Pricing wise, I feel that USD 22 per night is ok with balcony room . I am grateful with the hanoi hotel lucky staff .i will come back again

We booked 2 rooms through traveloka, after receiving a successful booking confirmation, i called to receptionist confirmed that we will arrive late around 2 am...he said ok. When we arrived at the receptionist, the hotel staff informed that the hotel was fully booked and took us to the motel next door. Here we got two very old rooms and duty. A/c working very noise we can't sleep, also here no reception, no security (too late now at 3am). Next morning day i talk to manager about frustration of our delegation. They do not apologize and blame the receptionist for unprofessional work. We so sad because we see they have nice review on tripadvisor. Unreliable and unprofessional. Director attitude is not good. No recommend

Perfect location, a bit off the main road, so not so loud in the night, with a narrow passage directly to St. Joseph Cathedral just behind the corner. The staff are simply great. More than helpful, caring, they always had some surprise for my kid. Wi-fi, A/C and other facilities. Massage spot on the place. And they offer trips at good prices. Highly recommend.
