This hotel pricing suits it's quality. Tired rooms showing it's wear. It's in hear of tourist area and while my room had just a tiny window, it was sufficient to let the nightlife sounds creep in. A few poorly placed power sockets at bedside. Other sockets are not well placed unless u remove a wall mirror or are a contortionist. Breakfast was inadequate. Better off dropping a buck or two and eating on the street.

First hotel in VN after arriving from the US. A&EM is a chain and the Petit Hotel located on 179 Ly Tu Trong is one of a few that’s in the Ben Thanh Market, a very vibrant part of the 1st District (Quan 1) which is close to many sites like the Independence Palace, Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, Caravelle Hotel, Bitexco Financial Tower with an impressive of the Saigon River and the city below. You can book ride from the Tan Son Nhut Airport to the hotel using the Grab app (which overtook Uber) and cost is about $15-20 depending on traffic. Hotel serves not too fancy a breakfast but it does have a daily hot meal item. But you’re also close to hundreds of eateries so no worries about lack of sustenance here. We really relied on the staff for everything from getting cabs, phone services like SIM card purchases, money exchanges, laundry. They really take care of you. We really enjoyed the warm and friendly staff— shout-outs to Hien Pham and Luan who really made us feel at home. BTW, the rooster next door does wake you up early. Besides that, we enjoyed the hotel’s location in the middle of everything.

The location is good but that is really all. I was there on business for a night but if I had time I would have looked elsewhere. The lift was dirty, buttons felt greasy to touch, hardly worked. Room felt filthy and had a bad smell. Bath was in poor condition and drainage was not good. Toilet did not flush well. TV didn't work. Damp on walls. The public areas were 'seedy' and run down Breakfast awful - Definitely not for Western guests. Would not return. On a positive note the receptionists were decent, the bellboys were helpful, and the hotel driver had a new car for airport ride.
