New Saigon Hostel

The double room was ok..clean enough, bed hard, typical for Vietnam. The hostel is in a really busy area and it's never quiet. Breakfast is very basic and served down in the basement. A rat ran over my feet at breakfast...and there was rat feces on the steps. Do yourself a favour and spend a tiny bit more and stay in a nicer area of Saigon.

We got off to a rocky start as the hostel allows late check out at a price, so our room wasn't ready until 4:30. We were knackered after travelling so it was a bit annoying that we had to find somewhere to wait until our room was ready. The hostel is on the busy street but we were pleasantly surpised to find the room was very well insulated. Breakfast was included, and made to order. The real highlight of the stay was hotel receptionist Tracy. She was always smiling and was so friendly and welcoming, made us feel right at home. She is a real credit to your hostel.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. It is definitely in the busy tourist area of Bui Vien but it is at the end of the block so a little less busy. I would give 5 stars but my room was crazy loud and I did have a hard time sleeping. Not the hostel's fault but it is something to consider when you book. This is a nightlife spot and you can hear honking, vendors, and people until very late at night. The staff is really great! Excellent English, very friendly, very helpful. I really enjoyed taking to them
