Son Tung Hotel

A well located hotel with large room but where maintenance it's a war remember! Fans and air conditioner unit out of order , level of cleanliness very poor and a management fully absent for any travelers needs! Price stisfactory if , all the above mentionet deficiencies should be rectified!

Located at the junction with Go Bac Street this a family(they take turns day and night on duty) run hotel with 12 rooms over 6 floors. The 2 ground floor rooms(behind reception are windowless. There is no lift(elevator). We stayed here on and off over 15 days. The rooms are spacious for 2 people.Toilet and shower are seperate with soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toilet paper and good size towel supplied.Linen is changed twice in 5 days.WiFi and TV reception is excellent.Hot water 24 hours. The rooms are as stated by other guests mosquito & bug free. The area around De Tham Street is improving by the day almost with new restaurants,a craft beer bar and don't forget the laundry at number 168 with modern washers and dryers(visible from the street). We will return.Bui Vien is 5 minutes walk,Ben Thanh 12 minutes.

cheap hotel but gives good value. clean room, clean bed, clean smelling, mosquito n bug free, friendly reception, convenient location close to food joints and backpackers area yet quiet. few extra dollars a night in exchange for full privacy in a spacious room that sleeps three and your own attached bathroom with hot shower and clean wc and basin. Aircon works fairly well and even gets chilly at night, while fan helps aircon cool down room faster in day time if you happen to come back for showers. Drawback is overall a bit old especially the wardrobe and no lift for your tired feet at end of the day. no breakfast either but for that price, you are already getting more than your moneys worth. and late sleepers may not appreciate the predawn roosters crowing. and the chatter of people talking loudly in the alleys when you shower at 5am....can hear clearly in the bathroom!
