Starcity Halong Bay Hotel

A tourist trap if ever there was one – especially if, like us, you arrive late afternoon on a tour bus and discover there is no other food or drink available for miles around. You can enjoy two-for-one hotel beers for $2 (VND50,000) up to 7pm (compared to 40c for the daily brewed and much superior Bia Hoi). The buffet, at $20 (VND320,000) per person, was pretty steep compared to downtown prices, but nevertheless impressive. After that, though, we were stuck in a soulless dining room for the rest of the evening. Be prepared if you’re on a tour. If you want authenticity and better value, go elsewhere.

Worst breakfast, breakfast from 5:30am to 9:00am but 7:30am everything already empty, those left look so horrible! Staffs are not friendly! Stay here only one night and never come back again! The bath room is extremely old and need upgrade! The lighting in room is so dark! The view from the room is urgh... we choose this hotel only because of its has big car park only!

I like this hotel only issue the loud music 🎵 from the road below which is out of the control of the hotel or other business in the area. The room was clean and bed was great too very comfortable. The breakfast was the standard fare for Vietnam which for someone from the uk is a bit of a surprise but very nice
