Mithrin Halong

Nice and comfortable hotel in Halong Bay. Large room with seaview, spacy bathroom. Big, comfortable beds.Breakfast buffet offered a big variety of Asian/ Vietnamese food and a smaller choice of international dishes. Staff are friendly.

Accommodation was not the 4 star hotel it claims to be. Hotel itself looks old and room was not very nice. Bathroom was odd with a tub that had shower head that you cannot mount on top. Staffs were nice but not very attentive not helpful. Will not recommend.

We stayed there for 4 nights for Halong Bay. Before returning to Hanoi. Hotel with a chic entrance and lobby appearance, big disappointment afterwards. The person at the reception speaks very little English (when there is anyone at the reception!). No cocktails offered on arrival (contrary to what is indicated on their hotel brochures) No one at reception most of the time. The rest of the staff are few, not smiling and barely friendly except for one. Few rooms occupied and despite everything we were woken up by mistake very early... Access to the swimming pool closed even during opening hours we had to ask to open. To discover a state of disrepair move forward: rust. Breakfast side very limited and questionable choice (we avoided 2 breakfasts after being unwell, which did not happen to us elsewhere). The room: old, poorly insulated, damp, sparse cleaning and fridge not restocked (not once in 4 nights!). Blatant lack of general maintenance. In summary, hotel to avoid. Does not deserve the price displayed nor its 4 stars. Absolutely avoid.
