Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (do not climb the pagoda). This temple used to be a royal monastery built by Emperor Tang Gaozong to repay his mother. After its completion, he invited Tang Sanzang to be the abbot and translate the Tripitaka brought from India. Tang Sanzang designed and helped build the Goose Pagoda to store the Tripitaka. The pagoda is similar to the Indian style, with 7 floors and a height of 64.7 meters. In the past, the pagoda was built entirely of earth, but during the Ming Dynasty, it was renovated entirely of bricks.
