Haneda - Asakusa Temple - Nakamise Shopping Street - Kawagoe - Kurazukuri Street - Tokinokane Clock Tower - Kashiya Yokocho - Sagamiko Light Festival - Giant Crab Legs + Natural Hot Spring Bath
Breakfast served at the hotel restaurant.
We will take you to Asakusa Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo, to pay respects to the Golden Kannon Buddha. You will also be impressed by the giant 4.5-meter-tall lantern hanging at the entrance. You can also purchase amulets within the temple grounds. Afterwards, we will explore Nakamise Street, the temple's famous shopping street, lined with souvenir shops selling amulets and antique toys. Finally, we will visit a sweet shop where Japanese visitors queue to sample its delicious flavors. Even the Emperor ordered his aide to buy it here. This is "melon pan," a traditional Japanese bread. While some may mistake it for melon-filled bread, it is actually baked bread with a cracked top resembling the skin of a Japanese melon. This is where the name "Melonpan" comes from.
Lunch is served at a restaurant, featuring a special yakiniku buffet.
We'll then travel to Kawagoe, an old town known as "Little Kyoto." Kawagoe exudes a charming past that remains intact to this day. This former capital of the Edo period, Kawagoe transports us back in time with its traditional buildings and a glimpse into the Japanese way of life during a time when rice was a prized possession. Then, we'll take you to Kurazukuri Street, an old town district where you can capture the Edo-era atmosphere, dotted with retro houses lining both sides. You'll also see the Toki no Kane Clock Tower, a three-story building standing 16 meters high and over 350 years old, a symbol of Kawagoe. Then, we'll stroll along Kashiya Yokocho, a small alley lined with shops selling inexpensive, traditional, bulk sweets and snacks, most priced around 50 yen. Many of the houses are owned by locals who have operated sweet shops since ancient times. Many tourists come here to enjoy the Showa period atmosphere. Enjoy free time to shop for souvenirs and local products, a true Kawagoe experience.
We'll take you to the Sagamiko Illumination Festival, one of the largest annual illumination events in the Kanto region, ranked among the top three. Held at Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest in Kanagawa Prefecture, the festival features 6 million lights across an area of approximately 40,000 square meters. Each year, the theme park is different (admission included). Enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, a true Kawagoe experience.
* Note: If the illumination festival is closed, we reserve the right to change your itinerary. We'll take you to Gotemba Premium Outlets, the largest shopping center. Enjoy a wide selection of well-known brand-name products at great prices, including cosmetics, accessories, clothing, bags, shoes, sports equipment, and electrical appliances. This is also a hub for Japanese brands going international, featuring the latest collections from brands like MK Michel Klein, Morgan, and Diffusione Tessile, as well as fashion shoes and many more. Enjoy shopping at your leisure.
In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Enjoy a special meal featuring giant crab legs and a Japanese-style dipping sauce.
After your meal, relax in the natural hot springs. It's believed that soaking in the hot springs beautifies your skin and improves blood circulation.
Accommodation: 3-star FUJI AREA HOTEL or equivalent.
