Holiday Inn Gwangju

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an excellent stay at Holiday Inn Gwangju while visiting our family in Gwangju. We traveled from Indianapolis, Indiana, and stayed for two nights from July 9 to July 11, 2026. The room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and very safe. The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff provided outstanding service. When the bathroom sink in our room wasn’t working properly, we requested assistance, and the maintenance team responded immediately. The problem was fixed quickly, and we were completely satisfied. The most impressive part of our stay happened after we checked out. We didn’t realize we had left our passport, credit cards, cash, and checkbook in the room safe until we checked into another hotel in Seoul and were asked to present our passport. That was when we discovered our belongings had been left behind. We immediately called Holiday Inn Gwangju and spoke with the manager, Max. He responded right away, secured our belongings, and helped arrange for everything to be returned to us promptly. His professionalism, kindness, and honesty gave us great peace of mind during a very stressful situation. We are sincerely grateful to Max and the entire Holiday Inn Gwangju team. Their excellent customer service went above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Holiday Inn Gwangju to anyone visiting Gwangju. Thank you, Max, and thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so memorable.

4-star hotel with very nice rooms that are spacious and clean. The breakfast offers a wide variety, but unfortunately, as in all large hotel chains, the quality and products are often convenience foods. The staff, as everywhere in Korea, are linguistically talented and professional in their work. Overall, however, a good hotel.

It's very far from nearly everything, with the exception of the congress center which is nearby. Rooms are ok size and clean, and the breakfast buffet is very huge, but very very mediocre quality with only standard low discounter quality food. --> Make the breakfast buffet smaller, but instead purchase high quality cheese and ham, teach staff to be warm and heartfelt, and hire a good chef who could cook better warm foods!
